THE SOURCE EVENT - WEDNESDAY 6 FEBRUARY - SIGNIFICANCE


The first Source Event for Young People of 2019 will take place on Wednesday 6 February, starting at 7.00pm. The title of the evening is ‘Significance’, which will also be the theme of this year’s Flame Event at Wembley. We will be welcoming Mary Palmer who is a renowned and inspirational speaker and M.C. for Flame.
Music for the evening will be provided by Maria Martindale. As usual, refreshments will follow. All are welcome

The Source is the youth event held at St Mary's Cathedral and organised by the Youth Ministry Team.The Source is a time of prayer for all those in Year 9 and above. Afterwards there is a chance to socialise with other young people from across the diocese in the Cloister Café where there is free food!

FLAME 2019

The National Catholic Youth Congress, Flame, takes place at Wembley Arena on 2nd March 2019. 800 young people from our Diocese are invited to participate and coaches will leave from pick-up points in every area including Newcastle. This is an opportunity not to be missed. Please encourage young people to attend. The cost is £20 (subsidised by our partnership) which includes coach travel and Wembley ticket. Please pick up a letter from the back of the Cathedral and return forms to the Cathedral office.

JOHN PAUL II AWARD

The John Paul II Award encourages young people to become actively involved in their church and local communities and to receive the benefits that come from living out their faith in a real and tangible way.

The Pope John Paul II Award is for anyone between the age of 16-18. Its non-competitive, inclusive, flexible and voluntary. Many of our young people sign up through their School Chaplain or at a sixth form induction. If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact the Cathedral Office.
