The Cathedral is located in the middle of a parking-meter zone which is operative all days of the week, including Sunday. Newcastle City Council generously provides free parking permits for use by Cathedral Mass-goers on a Sunday.

Parking charges on the street in Newcastle City Centre are operational every day of the week between 8am and 6.30pm. Motorists are required to pay the appropriate fee between these hours. Details of the charges can be found on each ticket machine or parking meter. Motorists are advised to carry a supply of coins as the ticket machines generally take 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins. Parking meters generally take 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1, however some older parking meters may be limited in the coins that they accept. The ticket machines and parking meters do not give change.
