Baptism
A short course of three evenings is provided to help parents to prepare for the baptism and to appreciate the commitment they make on behalf of their child.

First Communion
Pupils at Our Lady & St Anne's School are automatically included in the annual preparation for First Communion celebrations, usually held in June. This normally involves Year 5 pupils. Catechists hold preparation sessions at the school during normal school hours and the children also attend a number of Saturday morning classes at the Cathedral which last 45 minutes.

For children outside these formal preparations, other arrangements can easily be made. Please contact the Cathedral Office for further information.

Confirmation
Confirmation preparations are held after Easter and involve a minimum of four sessions with a catechist, in advance of the confirmation ceremony around the time of Pentecost.

Marriage
Training programmes aimed at helping couples to prepare for marriage are provided throughout the year for the large number of couples who choose to be married in the Cathedral. Single-day sessions are organised when five or six couples meet together with a married couple from the parish. Couples may also be seen on an individual bases.
