On Friday 10 October a Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated for the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of Priesthood of Fr Peter Leighton, Dean of St Mary's Cathedral.

Celebrating the Mass with Fr Peter were Bishop Hugh Lindsay and Bishop Ambrose Griffiths, Bishops Emeriti of Hexham and Newcastle, with over 50 priests, many guests from all over the diocese and ecumenical representatives.
