Thanks to the generosity of the late Martin Ballinger and the Ballinger Trust, work on a new three manual pipe organ and choir gallery to be constructed at the west end of the Cathedral started on site on 8 May 2012. The whole projected is expected to take around thirty weeks. The architect for this exciting and much anticipated project is Kevin Doonanand the organ builder is Kenneth Tickell.
