This window is situated in the south side of the west wall.

It has three lights with canopies: on the left is Saint William wearing
a mitre and holding a crozier and book; in the centre is John the Baptist
baptising Christ with water from a shell - the baptismal font was originally
sited below this window before the baptistry was built; on the right
is Our Lady with a lily.
In the tracery, the Holy Spirit is depicted in the form of a dove. In
the canopies are monograms 'W' and 'M' on the left and right, with a
cross in the centre. At the bottom and extending over the three lights
is a view of the cathedral with unfinished tower (there is a crane behind),
the Riddell tomb with the Corbridge cross which used to stand near the
tomb, and the presbytery to the design by Edward W Pugin.
