Year of Faith

The Year of Faith began on October 11, 2012 and will end on November 24, 2013, the Solemnity of Christ the King. The Pope chose October 11, 2012 as the opening date because on this day two important anniversaries occur: the 50th anniversary of the opening of The Second Vatican Council and the 20th anniversary of the promulgation of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
