See Guidelines for those attending Mass

The numbers of people able to enter the Church for Mass will be strictly limited.

It would be extremely helpful for us to know if you intend coming to one of the weekend Masses so we have an idea of numbers. If you can - please call the Cathedral Office any time after 9am on 0191 2326953 or email office@stmaryscathedral.org.uk and register for the Mass you wish to attend. Please also remember to bring a face covering – this a requirement for all coming to attend Mass.

YouTube Live Stream
The Cathedral will live stream Holy Mass each day Monday to Friday at 12 noon, Saturday at 10am and on a Sunday at 11.30am

BAPTISMS and CONFESSIONS

Canon Michael McCoy, Cathedral Dean, writes

Sacrament of Reconciliation/Confessions

We have cleared the space in  the secondary porch at the back of Church to be available for Confessions. We have had a screen made to ensure anonymity and also as a protective measure against Covid 19. The chair will be sprayed with an anti – bacterial spray after each penitent or you may wish to stand and the outside door into the courtyard will remain open for ventilation. This will all ensure that the Sacrament can be celebrated with reverence and dignity whilst adhering to the necessary safety measures. A priest will be available after the midday Mass each day Monday to Friday and after the 10am Mass on a Saturday morning for Confessions.

Baptisms

If you would like to arrange a baptism please call the Cathedral Office.
